Our EV Full Service is a comprehensive annual maintenance service designed to go beyond the basic checks and address the systems that are unique to electric vehicles.
While an electric vehicle has fewer conventional mechanical components than a petrol or diesel vehicle, it still requires regular inspection and preventative maintenance. The high-voltage battery, thermal-management system, charging equipment, brakes, suspension, steering, tyres and other vehicle systems all need to remain in good condition to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation.
At Doyen Auto Services in Dumbarton, our EV Full Service builds on the essential checks carried out during an interim service, with additional specialist assessments of the high-voltage battery and thermal-management systems.
A key part of the service is a High-Voltage Battery State of Health (SOH) assessment. Battery SOH provides an indication of the battery’s available capacity compared with its original specification. Using appropriate diagnostic equipment, we can retrieve relevant battery-management data where supported by the vehicle and record the available information for future comparison.
Monitoring battery health can be useful for:

Battery SOH should always be interpreted in the context of the specific vehicle, battery chemistry, mileage, age, operating conditions and manufacturer data. It is not simply a single percentage that determines whether a battery is good or bad.
Our EV Full Service also includes inspection of the high-voltage thermal-management system. This system is responsible for controlling the temperature of critical components such as the battery and, depending on the vehicle design, the inverter and other high-voltage components.
We can inspect areas including:

Effective thermal management is particularly important because battery temperature can influence charging performance, vehicle efficiency and long-term battery durability. A cooling-system fault may result in charging limitations, reduced performance or thermal-management warnings.
In addition to the specialist EV checks, our full service includes appropriate general vehicle maintenance and inspection, including brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, fluids, lighting, wipers and other relevant safety and maintenance items.
