A DPF delete involves removing the diesel particulate filter function from your vehicle's ECU software. The DPF is an exhaust component designed to capture soot particles from diesel exhaust. When working properly, it periodically burns off this soot through a process called regeneration. When the DPF becomes blocked or the regeneration process fails, it can cause serious problems — reduced power, limp mode, high fuel consumption, and warning lights.
A replacement DPF can cost anywhere from £800 to £3,000+ depending on the vehicle. For many customers, a DPF delete through ECU software modification is a more cost-effective long-term solution. The ECU is reprogrammed to no longer expect the DPF to be present, which eliminates the regeneration cycles, associated sensors, and any DPF-related fault codes.
